Wim Hof Method
Leaving the corporate world after 20 years, I decided to follow my heart and leave my old comfort zone which had ended up being unhealthy and taking its toll on my body and mental health.
I stumbled across the Wim Hof Method (WHM) on social media. The WHM is a way of incorporating conscious breathing, regular cold exposure and a certain mindset into one’s live.
While initially being absolutely averse to the cold (imagine me in 34-degree Celsius heat in Greece struggling getting into the 25-degree warm water of the sea, carefully dipping my big toe, shuddering), I challenged myself to this regime for a month and felt such immense benefits after only the first few days that I never looked back and continued. It was the first time I actually stuck to something for more than 2 days!
How can something so simple and easy to practice have such a big impact on my mental and physical health?
Practicing this showed me the true potential behind these natural resources but, most importantly, in myself.
I was so impressed and convinced with the Method that I became an instructor. The studying immersed me into to the world of conscious breath, cold exposure, mindset and their impact on human physiology.
For four years, I’ve been guiding people to discover and embrace the Method. Many of them are still in touch, sharing with me how practicing the breathing technique, regular cold exposure and mindset has changed their life.
